Tell us your name. Alex Leslie
How and when did you first start running? When I was younger I was never a keen runner. I dabbled a little in 2012/2013 and started running regularly in 2017 mainly to keep fit
What brought you to Nidd Valley? I was struggling to improve my performances on my own and needed help during the cold winter months, so I decided to join a club! I didn’t want to join an ultra-serious elitist club and found the friendly Nidders at the Harrogate Parkrun and decided to give it a try!
When did you join Nidd Valley? December 2017
What is your favourite running music? Genre or specific tracks? I don’t really listen to music when running anymore (unless its a very long run on my own!) but when I do it has to be something up tempo – great motivation when you are struggling up a long steep hill!
What is your favourite food before and after running? Always peanut butter on toast – food of champions
What is your best running tip that you would like to share with us? I’ve only recently started using one, but foam rollers are amazing – its really helped with my running and recovery
What is your proudest moment in your running career? Smashing all the goals I have set for myself this year – I couldn’t have done it without NVRR
What are your running goals? Id like to think that I could do a Full Marathon at some point
What event are you training for at the moment? The birth of my first child in September! Running events are off the calendar until 2019
