|Tell us your name.||Benjamin Baird|
|How and when did you first start running?||I’ve participated in sports since I was young, so have always done some form of running. I began running as its own sport for a 10 km run in 2012.|
|What brought you to Nidd Valley?||I wanted to do longer runs to improve my stamina, mainly for Ultimate Frisbee which was my main hobby at the time, and struggled to motivate myself. I wanted to join a club, and in all honesty Nidd Valley was closest to home.|
|When did you join Nidd Valley?||July 2015|
|What is your favourite running music? Genre or specific tracks?||I don’t listen to music. I like to listen to nature and get lost in my thoughts.|
|What is your favourite food before and after running?||Before – 2 eggs and toast, maybe a banana if it is a late start.
After – Junk food!
|What is your best running tip that you would like to share with us?||Do the runs/races that you enjoy.|
|What is your proudest moment in your running career?||I don’t have any moments I’m proud of. Anyone who has spoken to me will know I’m very critical of all my runs (even if they’re PB’s!) looking for ways to improve. In 15-20 years when I look back I’m sure I’ll be happy with what I’ve achieved!|
|What are your running goals?||Short term I’m aiming for a sub 5-minute mile and sub 18-minute 5 km. Long term I want to run a sub 15-minute 5 km (you never know unless you try!).|
|What event are you training for at the moment?||Leeds Golden Mile|
