Tell us your name. Emma Kettlewell
How and when did you first start running? I started running properly when I joined Nidd Valley. Previously I just used to go out for a tootle when I felt like it. I didn’t track my miles or pace, I just went out when I needed to free my mind or if I had friends that wanted company running
What brought you to Nidd Valley? I needed some companionship/advice for the long training miles in prep for London Marathon. Also I was new – ish to the area so it was a great way for me to get to know people.
When did you join Nidd Valley? Sep/Oct 2017
What is your favourite running music? Genre or specific tracks? Anything upbeat and motivational. I love listening to the Flintoff, Savage and the Ping Pong Guy podcast, they’re good company when you need a giggle
What is your favourite food before and after running? Before – bagel with peanut butter and a banana. After – everything and anything!
What is your best running tip that you would like to share with us? Don’t overthink it, don’t compare yourself to others, focus on you and what you want to get out of running
What is your proudest moment in your running career? Finishing the London Marathon this year and being alive to tell the tale
What are your running goals? Try some more fell runs, get a little quicker on the shorter distances and help others with theirs
What event are you training for at the moment? Pub runs!
