It’s the first email (from me) of 2019, and after a short hiatus we’re back to normal this week. I hope everyone had an enjoyable and relaxing festive period, but if you’re anything like me, and you’ve relaxed a little bit too much you’ll be raring to go for the return of the interavls tomorrow night…
Tuesdays sees the return of Sarah as coach, and she’ll be joined by Jonathan C and Brian. We’re heading down to Montpellier for a hill session, please be ready to leave the club at 7pm, or you can choose to meet at the bottom of Montpellier from about 7.15pm. We’re expecting a big crowd tomorrow, so we might have to utlisie both hills, but we’ll make a decision on the night.
On Thursday I thought it would be nice if we ran towards Green Lane – I don’t think we’ve ran that way for a while! Leaving the club via Claro Road, you turn left at the top and run towards the hospital and continue along Slingsby Walk. Turning left onto Oatlands Drive, you passing the top of Wheatlands Road before turning right onto Hookstone Road and heading up towards M&S. From there its straight across onto Leadhall Lane before a right onto Green Lane. It’s then straight across at the roundabout and along Beckwith Road before returning back to the club via Otley Road.
The initial meeting point for this route is the corner of Slingsby Walk and Wetherby Road.
Don’t forget your hi-viz vests and head torches (if you have one), it’s really dark now.
Here’s a reminder of the paces we run:
- Group 1 – if you run 5k in 23 minutes or quicker
- Group 2 – if you run 5k in 26 minutes or quicker
- Group 3 – if you run 5k in 29 minutes or quicker 29
- Group 4 – if you run 5k in 33 minutes
Have a great week everyone, and Happy New Year (it’s probably too late to say it but nevermind)
