This coming Saturday 14th April sees Round 3 of our club road champs and the excitement is palpable! The race is at Fountains Abbey Parkrun and is the shortest and easiest of the season so well within everyone’s capabilities. The run starts at 9:00 as usual.
It doesn’t matter whether you are chasing points in the club champs or not, please come along and make this another great gold and black social event. For those of you who’ve not been to Fountains before there is a lovely cafe for afterwards where you can reward your efforts with coffee and cake or a bacon sarnie. Even if you can’t or don’t want to run please come along and support your team mates and encourage friends and family to come along too. It is one of the most beautiful Parkruns in the country too.
Now for the usual reminders:
Don’t forget your bar code – without it you won’t get a result
Don’t forget to wear the gold and black vest (this will give you super powers)
Try to car share as much as possible
Bring your pennies for the cafe afterwards
Saturday, and the Fountains Abbey parkrun, is also the scene for the graduation run of cohort two of the Zip to Zoom programme. There promises to be a huge Nidd Valley contingent at Fountains so come along, wear your club colours and support all the runners.
So I’ll hope, nay, expect to see you all on Saturday morning, it will be fun.
Martin (Captain Grayling)
