Many thanks to everybody who turned out at Fountains Abbey this morning to support the Nidd Valley 300 in their bid to achieve an aggregate time of under 2 hours. We did it!

I think we are all pleased with our times but Alan’s I think is exceptional. He’s gone from 38:20 when he did his first ever parkrun with me on 17 February to 37:21 2 weeks ago to 36:01 today. It earns him my nomination for the “Most Improved Runner” award!. Perhaps it was the tremendous support he got from club members that pushed him along. I did a search for “Nidd” in the results and found this. Just shows what a supportive bunch of members we have, (Yvonne Skelton needs to update her parkrun profile now that she’s defected. Welcome Yvonne – also Martin Weeks!) Thanks also to Marcos Montaña León who ran with Tony and to Andrew Aird who ran with Robert I presume, as they finished together
