How and when did you first start running? | My primary school teacher(Mr Love) was a former semi pro footballer and keen runner. To get into his school football team you had run for the x-country team first, found out I was a better runner than footballer. |
What brought you to Nidd Valley? | It was the closet club to my home. |

What is your favourite running music? Genre or specific tracks? | I don’t listen to anything when running. Could listen to The Clash, Big Audio Dynamite and Proclaimers all day. |
What is your favourite food before and after running? | Anything Plant Based. |
What is your best running tip that you would like to share with us? | 80/20. Most of us do all of our running at the same pace and become a bit stale, hit a plateau. I now run 80% easy, really easy and 20% hard and fastish. I feel less tired in races now. |
What is your proudest moment in your running career? | Twice won Scottish National X-Country team titles with my boyhood club Motherwell YMCA Harriers. Got as high as 24th in the RAF X-Country champs in amongst some bloody good runners in the 1990’s 1500m PB of 4min 05secs. |
What are your running goals? | Get back under 19min for Parkrun 40min for 10k and do 100mile in 24hrs. |
