How and when did you first start running? | I started in 2013 at Harrogate Parkrun |
What brought you to Nidd Valley? | I looked at Harriers but they had a minimum requirement. I was at Parkrun when Nidd Valley did a ‘Take Over’. It was a great advert for the club. |
When did you join Nidd Valley? | October 2016, I came running with the club a few times before I actually joined. That really helped. |
What is your favourite running music? Genre or specific tracks? | I stopped listening to music while running when I joined the club. Though I did like Eminem, especially ” ’til I collapse” |
What is your favourite food before and after running? | I struggle to run after eating. after my run though, Caramel flavoured rice crackers with peanut butter and sliced banana on top. |
What is your best running tip that you would like to share with us? | “It’s a hill, get over it” (Sam Fugill 2017) I was allowing the hill to defeat me before I had even got to it. “Same effort, less pace” (Fell Running Phil 2016, ’17 & ’18) |
What is your proudest moment in your running career? | I did actually train for The Great North Run, my running improved and I enjoyed the training. Managed to get a sub 2 hour time. Being part of the Zip2Zoom Bed Race Team has been a huge highlight too. |
What are your running goals? | Sub 21 minute Parkrun??? In the mean time, my first marathon and A few more fell races in 2019. |
What event are you training for at the moment? | Amsterdam Marathon October 2018 |
