Tell us your name. | Katy Jarrett |
How and when did you first start running? | 2018 Zip to Zoom Group. I had tried and failed to get going with running so many times that I just assumed it wasn’t the activity for me! |
What brought you to Nidd Valley? | My lovely friend Nadene Wilkinson persuaded me to give it one more try |
When did you join Nidd Valley? | Immediately after completing the Zip to Zoom course |
What is your favourite running music? Genre or specific tracks? | I haven’t tried running with music yes, I like to chat with others from the group and when I run on my own I tend to organise and plan |
What is your favourite food before and after running? | When we run on an evening I try to have a snack of a Banana or some Soreen or something similar then I have whatever I fancy for tea when I get back in |
What is your best running tip that you would like to share with us? | Like Jeff always reminds us ‘Start off steady then slow down a bit more’ |
What is your proudest moment in your running career? | Completing my graduation run 5K at Fountains Abbey, I don’t think anything will ever compare to that. I Genuinely never believed I would ever be able to run 5K without needing to stop. Once you’ve gotten past that first hurdle (generally your own self-doubt) then anything is achievable |
What are your running goals? | Honestly, just to keep going ha ha! I would love to complete a 10K as comfortably as I now do a 5K. I would also love to help out with the next Zip to Zoom group, to give a little back as I have gained so much from doing it myself |
What event are you training for at the moment? | Nothing particularly, with having a young family I am currently limited to what I can commit to |
