Week Ahead – Sunday 21st July 2019

Afternoon All,
I hope this finds you well and that you have all enjoyed a rewarding week of running and racing.The evening league races have finished for this year. However, congratulations are in order as Jonathon Easton and Jenny Manning took first place as the first male and female Nidder home at the handicap race. Well done!

This forthcoming week we have a structured training session, a social pub run and a championship trail race to end the week on. Life really doesn’t get much better!

The Week Ahead. W/C 22/7/19.

Tuesday 23/7/19. Intervals. Session 2.

7pm School field at the rear of the Hockey Club.Jon Easton, Martin Lofthouse and Jane Hill will be leading an interval session. It will be based on individual effort so don’t be shy come along, work hard and reap the benefit as you get stronger and faster.
Social Run Option.As always there is the option of a social run at a pace to suit you. Alan will open up the Hockey Club for anyone wanting a social run. 

Thursday 25/7/19. Pub Run. The Knox.
Graham Hyde has organised the route for this social pub run starting from The Knox public house. 6.45pm for a 7pm start. Graham and Nadene will provide up to date information before Thursday. Route and directions


Social Run Option.There is a social run option too but I haven’t suggested a route. 

Sunday 28/7/19. James Herriott Trail Race. 11am. Castle Bolton, Leyburn. DL8 4ET.This is a 14km trail race and one of our championship races, counting as a long one due to the slightly more challenging terrain and distance.Please refer to the BookitZone website for further information.

Social Group Runs. Pacing Groups. 

Group 1. – Approx 8 to 8.30 minute mile pace

Group 2. – Approx 9 to 9.30 minute mile pace

Group 3. – Approx 10 to 10.30 minute mile pace

Group 4 – Approx 10.30 to 11 minute mile pace

Group 5 –  Social, recovery run with no pace in mind but a chance to chat as you jog, going as far as you want.

Health and Safety Briefing.

Warm up and cool down correctly.

Buddy up where possible and always with any new members.

In the event an injury does occur please remember to inform the welfare officer using the on line form on our club web site.
