Afternoon All,
What a wet day it is today! A good day for a bracing run followed by a warm fire and hot drink.
I can’t believe this is the last weekly email of the year and what a year its been! Some of you made it to the social zoom and had the chance to reflect on just what we have achieved as a club despite lockdowns, rules of 6, tier compliance and staying fit and well.
What we have achieved is due to the commitment of all club members, people voluntering their time to lead runs, intervals, keep us motivated with little challenges, some fun, some more serious with our new club badges up for grabs.
I would like to thank all of you for this and for all you do for the club.
So, its time to consider next year. Sadly, we wont have an awards evening and our AGM will be a zoom affair, which will be interestng. Christina, our secretary will be giving notice of the AGM very soon but the date in question is Wednesday 24th February 2021 at 7.30pm.
Amongst other matters discussed at the AGM will be the formation of a new committee. All the postions on the committee are available for any member to apply for irrespective of wether the present post holders wish to continue.
Please refer to our club website for descriptions of the various committee roles which can be found within the club constitution. Don’t be shy, give it some thought and feel free to liaise with any current committee member for the inside line on what being a committee member involves.
I can tell you first hand, there’s a lot goes on behind the scenes but its rewarding, particulalry when you know you’re making a difference.
Now for the running section.
It looks as though some of you are taking part in the 12 days of Christmas challenge, so far its been a challenge just getting out in this weather. Keep up the good work and burn off the calories.
Tuesday 29th December 2021.
Intervals are back on with run leaders ready to put you through your paces. You will meet at the location you began your social treasure hunt run last week. Full details can be found here. https://niddvalleyroadrunners.co.uk/winter-intervals-2020/

I know its NYE but I suspect you’re not all off out to some elaborate party so the club Thursday run is still on. Once again, it will be best if a route is agreed amongst those present.

Best Wishes,
Christine
