Good Morning Running Team Mates,
Hoping you are all well and managing to find time to enjoy this long overdue sunshine.
Three months into this role as Chair and I must say it has been most interesting, enlightening, and enjoyable. The role isn’t new to me however every time I find myself in this position new challenges are always thrown up that makes for “never a dull moment”. The reason I choose to communicate regularly in this way is to give everyone a chance to not only get an update on events and news, but also to “stop the train” and give some thought into how we can all be a part of improving Nidd Valley Road Runners for the benefit of all. We should all ask ourselves the question. Is this club better today than it was yesterday for my involvement. And if we can all say yes to that question the club will be a better environment for us all.
Please read these communications as they are intended. To communicate, update, and use the opportunity to recognise individuals and the club as a whole.
For me it is so important that any group of people, however small, work together to improve the lives of us all and beyond. And we certainly did that this week when we went,
Plogging
Plogging !”What is that”? I asked when I turned up one Thursday evening as a newcomer and was handed a pair of blue gloves and a bin bag. I was not impressed ! However keeping my views to myself as I always try to do, I got involved and thoroughly enjoyed it. To a point when I was truly looking forward to the next time which happened to be last Thursday.
And what a success ! Led by Captain Kevin Dalton (thanks Kevin and all the people that supported you). I was wondering how many would show and having counted them it was between 50 and 60. There was a wonderful buzz.
And what a response from the community. We all received comments of gratitude from members of the public as we blogged around Harrogate And once again, it was so enjoyable. Team building and a wonderful way to build on the relationships we already have and to expand relationships with others.
The next time let us try and hit 100 people working together representing our fine club Plogging.
A big THANK YOU to all that took part and gave time to such a good cause. Harrogate Advertiser online have written a great piece you may wish to take a look at . Thanks Captain Sarah for making that happen.
