Tell us your name. | Paul Manning |
How and when did you first start running? | I dabbled with running in about 2000, but really started in 2005. |
What brought you to Nidd Valley? | My dad told me about it as he was a member, and thought I’d enjoy it. It turned out that I really did. |
When did you join Nidd Valley? | I joined around 2006. |
What is your favourite running music? Genre or specific tracks? | I don’t run to music any more, but when I did, in the early days it was usually something like the Prodigy or Metallica. |
What is your favourite food before and after running? | If it’s before a race, I’d have porridge with yoghurt and fruit. Afterwards, I crave things like fish, eggs, and salt and vinegar crisps. |
What is your best running tip that you would like to share with us? | Don’t forget to stretch. I’ve fallen foul of it so many times, and you pay the price. |
What is your proudest moment in your running career? | Running my first marathon with the club. It was the 2008 Anglesey Marathon. I never thought I’d ever run one, but with the support of the club I did it. |
What are your running goals? | I’d love to get below 22 minutes on a parkrun. |
What event are you training for at the moment? | I’ve got the Vale of York Half Marathon later on this year. |
