How and when did you first start running? | The same time that I started teaching! It’s a great way to relieve stress. |
What brought you to Nidd Valley? | After I went to Harrogate Harriers and no-one spoke to me. |

What is your favourite running music? Genre or specific tracks? | The last time I listened to music while running was on a minidisc player. One of my colleagues persuaded me that they were the future of portable music! I much prefer running without music now. |
What is your favourite food before and after running? | Banana, milk and cocoa powder in the blender gives a fantastic recovery shake. |
What is your best running tip that you would like to share with us? | Smile while running! It helps you relax your posture and disguises the internal pain you are suffering. |
What is your proudest moment in your running career? | Finishing the London Marathon this year. It was brutally hot but I had had so much support from people who had sponsored me so I knew I had to keep going. |
What are your running goals? | The sub-20 Parkrun that keeps eluding me. |
What event are you training for at the moment? | That 20 minute Parkrun. |
