Tell us your name. | Brian Hainsworth |
How and when did you first start running? | At school I was a sprinter but this stopped after leaving, I began running again at the end of summer 2016 |
What brought you to Nidd Valley? | After training by myself and then completing the Leeds Half Marathon in May 2017, I decided I quite liked this running lark and thought I’d join a club. After looking into local clubs, Nidd was the one that I liked the sound of and I definitely made the right choice. |
When did you join Nidd Valley? | June 2017 |
What is your favourite running music? Genre or specific tracks? | I prefer to not listen to music anymore while running but Go by The Chemical Brothers is a good track to get you going. |
What is your favourite food before and after running? | Before running I like to have a plain 3 egg omelette. After anything to hand be it cake, chocolate, banana… |
What is your best running tip that you would like to share with us? | Never compare yourself to another runner, there will always be someone faster or slower than you. Ultimately you are competing against yourself and just enjoy it. |
What is your proudest moment in your running career? | Helping a best friend get into running and running Fountains Abbey parkrun with them for their first non stop run. Also on a different day, being there when another best friend completed their first non stop run at the same parkrun after being coached by Nidd. |
What are your running goals? | To complete an Ultra. |
What event are you training for at the moment? | The Yorkshire Marathon. |
