Evening Nidders,
Well done to everyone who turned out yesterday at the Harrogate Harriers PECO race. It looks like a great event, and from what I can gather an enjoyable route. I’ve had a quick look at the latest standings, and I’d be lying if I said I totally understood them, but it does look like we’re doing well! Keep up the good work!
Onto this week’s events, and Tuesday sees the return of Emma has coach, we’re returning to the Wheatlands Road East to tackle the hills there! Emma’s going to be joined by Lynsey & Christine, and you can choose to meet them at the top of Slingsby Walk – I’m never sure where the warm up will take place – from about 7.10pm. Or be at the club ready to run at 7pm, hopefully see you there.
On Thursday I thought we could do the Knox route. Leaving the club at 7pm we head over the railway lines and down onto Woodfield Road. Crossing over at the Bilton lane and heading along Tennyson Avenue, before running up Bachelor Gardens and Knox Avenue and out onto Skipton Road. Turning right and running down towards Ripon Road, but heading towards town passing the Majestic Hotel, before running up Parliament Street/West Park. At the Prince of Wales roundabout we take a left turn and head back to the club along York Place. If you’d like to extend this run then you can continue up Leeds Road before tunring left at M&S, and heading back to the club along Oatlands Drive and Slingsby Walk.
The initial break point for this run is the bottom of Woodfield Road.
Here’s a quick remninder of the paces we’ll be running:
- Group 1 – if you run 5k in 23 minutes or quicker
- Group 2 – if you run 5k in 26 minutes or quicker
- Group 3 – if you run 5k in 29 minutes or quicker 29
- Group 4 – if you run 5k in 33 minutes
Don’t forget to wear your hi-viz vests and head torches!
That’s all from me, obviously Saturday is Award’s Night. Looking forward to seeing lots of you there, have a great week!
Dan
