Afternoon All
I hope you all survived the relentless and miserable rain we’ve had over this past week. I know several people raced at Otley on Wednesday and secured PB’s so well done to you. The annual Almscliffe Crag run went well with quite a number of determined club members enjoying this beautiful off road route.I would like to thank Martin, Sylvia, Sarah Chalmers and Dave for their help in making this happen and everyone else for turning up and making it a joy.
We have another racing week ahead so please read on for details.
The Week Ahead.
Tuesday 18/6/19 Greenway to Knox.Out along the Greenway to Killinghall with routes back either via Knox or a circuit of our evening league route around the fields and to the club.There will be run leaders to guide anyone not familiar with the route back options.Approx 6 miles.
Thursday 20/6/19.
Evening League No. 3 Yeadon.Martin Lofthouse has kindly sent an email with all the information you need. Don’t be late for the group photo at 7.30pm.
The weather forecast is definitely better than the last evening league race so get yourself there and go for it!Alan will be opening the hockey club for anyone who wants to meet up there and organise a social run.
Saturday 22/6/19.Wetherby Park Run. Nidd Valley Road Runners Takeover.Colleen Gruenwald is the race director for the park run and has created a face book event page together with the information of your role on the day.Please arrive early for your briefing and of course bring cakes, sweets, chocolate and a big smiley face.This is our chance to showcase our friendly club, to give something back to the park run and have fun so lets do it with a big show of force.
Sunday 23/6/19 Staveley Stampede 10K. Club Championship Race.

Pacing Groups. Tuesday Club Session.
Group 1. – Approx 8 to 8.30 minute mile pace
Group 2. – Approx 9 to 9.30 minute mile pace
Group 3. – Approx 10 to 10.30 minute mile pace
Group 4 – Approx 10.30 to 11 minute mile pace
Group 5 – Social, recovery run with no pace in mind but a chance to chat as you jog, going as far as you want.
Health and Safety Briefing.
Warm up and cool down correctly.
Buddy up where possible and always with any new members.
In the event an injury does occur please remember to inform the welfare officer using the on line form on our club web site.
