Parkrun
At Harrogate, we had 28 club runners in and amongst the 460 people taking part. There were some fast times once again with Alex Patrickson finishing 4th overall in a time of 18:09, and a PB for Hasabo Hasabo who finished in 18:49, and 7th overall. Andrew Johnson got himself a PB by finishing in 25:28, while Debbie Dilasser and Rebecca Ventress both achieved their quickest times yet since 2015, finishing in 26:44 and 26:45 respectively.
In other parkrun news, Moira Mactague was in County Tipperary running in the Templemore parkrun. This event was only started in January and the route seems quite scenic as it is situated in a nice country park. There were a total of 44 runners taking part, and Moira finished in a time of 26:10.
Fiona Robinson was in Bath for the Bath Skyline parkrun – the route description includes ‘an uphill flight of approximately 30 woodland steps (which some runners will find demanding)’…… anyway, Fiona finished in a time of 33:18, and the steps did not cause an issue….
Matt Wilkinson ran the Weymouth parkrun, and finished 2nd overall out of 390 runners. Unfortunately he forgot his barcode so there is no official time for him and he is shown as ‘unknown’….
Richmond Half Marathon
Kirsty O’Donnell was in Richmond upon Thames to take part in the Runfest – this includes the choice of a 10k, half marathon, full marathon, and there is a mile long race for the kids. The half marathon starts and finishes in Kew Gardens, going along the Thames and out towards Teddington Lock. Kirsty wore her club colours with pride for her first half marathon (even the huge medal she got for finishing has matching club colours), and she finished in time of 2:14. A brilliant effort from Kirsty – maybe the full marathon next??
Tadcaster 10
This race was next on the club champs calendar and once again NVRR provided a good show of strength. Tadcaster – home of three breweries and Tadkebab – provided a flat and fast 10 mile course, and back to its original route after the historic bridge was reopened. We had 19 runners take part this year, and Adam Kirk was first over the line for Nidd, and 16th overall in a new PB of 1:01:55. Martin Lofthouse was next in 1:05:39, then Jamie Dilasser in 1:09:32. Chris Beattie got himself a PB, finishing in 1:15:45, while Emma Dooley was the first Nidd lady to cross the line, finishing in 1:17:26. Sue Simpson was ever so close to Emma and finished in 1:17:30, and Brian Hainsworth was not too far behind in 1:17:57. Emma David was next in 1:19:30, Christine Jones 1:26:38, Dave Prince 1:27:25, Christina and Richard Taylor 1:27:21, and Nadine Wilkinson and Hannah Peagram finishing close in 1:28:04 and 1:28:14 respectively. Robert Hill crossed the line in 1:30:29 and bagged himself 3rd in the M70 category, and Rebecca Ventress got herself a PB finishing in 1:32:13. Fiona Robinson, Sylvia Morten, and Jeff Walker rounded off the fantastic effort by Nidd, and their finishing times were 1:48:55, 1:48:59, and 1:49:00 respectively.
